Old Turnpike Cottage

If a little dreaming is dangerous, the cure for it is not to dream less but to dream more, to dream all the time.
— Marcel Proust

After three amazing nights staying in New Forest, we passed some time before checking into our new place by backtracking a bit to visit two spots in Southampton.

Our first stop was to take this fun picture (for those that may not know, this is Amanda’s maiden name)!

Our other stop was to take Will to the Southampton Costco.

Wine from Paso Robles.

From Southampton we continued to Salisbury. When we stopped at a Sainsbury to get some groceries…look what Amanda found at the till.

Here is Amanda sitting inside a Salisbury Caffè Nero in 2009…

…And here we are just shy of 14 years later, standing outside the very same window, at the sameCaffè Nero, with what appears to be the same table in the background.

Finally, we made it to our destination—Old Turnpike Cottage in the hamlet of Teffont, about 11 miles west of Salisbury (by now you know how these maps work 😉 ).

We have been excited about every stop on our trip for years now, but some we were a little more excited about than others. One of them was our stay in the Old Turnpike Cottage. As you’ll see in the video, it’s an amazing traditional stone, thatched cottage in a picturesque Wiltshire village: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3WSpq_kRaI
